Musings From the Genny: Week of October 13th
MUSINGS FROM THE GENNY
We have been busy putting together a grant application to secure some funding for our building expansion project. In soliciting letters of support, our neighbor, Ezra, was eager to add her voice to the mix. Her sentiments really melted our hearts:
Hello,
My name is Ezra and I am nine years old. I am writing to support the Genny and I hear that they are raising up money to get extra space in the back.
I have lived next door to the Genny for three years. I go to the Genny at least every day to say hi to the staff. Sometimes I go with my friends and sometimes my mom gives me a list. I am trusted there and I always fit in. Sometimes things are too high for me to reach. I trust them and I can always ask for help. I have learned a lot there and made friends there. But most importantly I get their lovely food. It’s great living next door to the Genny. The first time I went there I was actually really scared but once I got to know Sunny and some other workers I felt comfortable.
I think they’re important to the community because they give joy to everyone and provide food to all. I think they deserve this money because they work really hard and it is a little crowded in there. That would be really nice to get some bigger space for everyone.
Thank you for reading my letter.
Sincerely,
Ezra Murphy
