Musings From the Genny: Week of June 9th, 2025

"Teamwork makes the dream work" is such a cliché phrase. But like all clichés, there is something at the heart of it that is really just true. It’s a truth that really resonates when we think about both of our stores.

The Genny is a complicated machine: a grocery store and deli open 364 days a year, 12 hours a day, with 30+ employees at the height of the season. This makes for a lot of moving parts.

The only thing that makes it possible is the collective teamwork of our truly amazing team. Whether it’s covering shifts when folks are sick, giving other coworkers rides, or just being a compassionate and listening ear when difficult life moments arise, we see our staff come together time and time again to have each other's backs… at work and outside of it.

Just want to recognize that fact and give kudos to our incredible staff as we gear up for another busy summer. We truly could do none of this without you!!!
